Eric A. Nielsen earned a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1980 at Michigan Tech and went on to earn an MBA-Finance & International Business, at the University of Chicago in 1988. After graduating from Michigan Tech he started as a consulting engineer with Hazard Engineering in Morton Grove, IL. Kristin Kolodge (Schwalbach) graduated from Michigan Tech in 1995 with her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. After attending Women in Engineering during Summer Youth Programs, she was hooked. Michigan Tech was the only school she applied to. Terry Woychowski has done so much for so many and is clearly worthy of being the first recipient of the newly established Humanitarian Award. With his immediate family, Terry founded the Woychowski Charitable Foundation, sponsoring a Michigan Tech Senior Design Team to build a "Human-Powered Hammer Mill."
